Installed NetBSD 11 on a ThinkPad X270. Using it as my daily driver in the HomeLab.

Learning electric bass. Taking online lessons with Ariane Cap. Twenty-five years ago I played guitar, then set it down to build a career. I chose bass. I’m returning, not starting over.

Building

Running my own infrastructure on decades-old technology: m4, SMTP, DNS, HTML, CGI, JavaScript, OpenBSD, CSS, SVG. No frameworks. No managed services. Just protocols and programs. Some call it retro computing. These tools formed me.

Studying

Going deep into the Unix philosophy. Bell Labs. Plan 9. Simplicity and generality as design principles, not aphorisms. Foundations of good system design exist. They outlast hype. The more I study them, the deeper I see.
